Vandalia vs Grace at Home
January 15, 2007
Varisty Boys
Good Effort in the Loss
Final: GCS 77, VCS 58
After being blown out by 40 to Grace a week ago (January 4, 2007), the Vikings were looking to regain their pride Monday night. The Vikings did just that in a 77-58 loss that was actually much closer than the score showed. “We were within eleven in the fourth quarter but had to foul and they hit their free throws,” said a very pleased Coach Feaster. “I’m never pleased with a loss, but we showed tonight that we can play with this team. We showed moments of greatness tonight and then fell apart for a few possessions here and there. Unfortunately, against a team that good we can’t afford to take any possessions off.” Brant Gordon finished the game with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Vikings. Stevie Thompson added 12 points and 5 rebounds in limited time due to foul trouble. John Grant put in 10 strong minutes off the bench and gave the Vikings a spark with his 9 points.
